Clinical Training in Vision Care and Eye Health
At the completion of this course, the student should –
Be able to build skills to perform full scope of eye examination.
Gain knowledge on ocular anatomy, function, and disease changes.
Perform necessary ophthalmic diagnostic investigations independently.
Understand and explain common ocular diseases effectively.
Gain insight into treatments and provide counselling-based guidance.
Learn appropriate referral protocols for ocular and systemic issues.
Be able to correct refractive errors and give spectacle prescriptions.
Fit, evaluate, and dispense lenses for vision correction and therapy.
Evaluate low vision and offer full care and rehab for visual disability.
Gain technical skills for crafting lenses and vision assistive devices.
Conduct binocular tests, manage anomalies, and refer surgical cases.
Assess occupational vision needs and suggest protective eye gear.
Identify early signs of eye issues – cataract, glaucoma, and others.
Understand eye bank operations and tissue preservation practices.
Counsel on eye hygiene, diet, and environment-related eye care.
